Summer is almost here! That means you’ll hit the road and have fun, hopefully away from technology adoption. Well, apart from your phone. You always need your phone. And that is the problem. While things like mountain hikes, lounging by the lake, and beach parties are fun, they are rarely within reach of an electrical outlet.
So it’s a good thing Anker and Mophie have created some of the best chargers I’ve tested since I started reporting on tech gadgets. Choose one of these three (or all three if you want to cover all possible scenarios) and you will never be left stranded with a dead iPhone again.
Anker 3 in 1 5000 mAh Power Bank
Has Anker created the most perfect travel charger ever? Possibly.
The problem with almost all power banks (that are not Qi-enabled) is that you need a cable to use it, and 99% of the time you don’t have a cable. The same goes for travel chargers. Or you have a cable but it adds extra bulk and clutter.
Anker decided to do something about it and combined a 30W travel charger, a 5000mAh power bank, and a USB-C cable, all in one easy-to-carry package. It’s surprisingly stylish for a travel charger, with rounded corners and a wide variety of colors so you can match it to your iPhone.

The cable is integrated into the body of the charger and is held in place by a hidden magnet, forming a convenient carrying loop. When you’re ready to charge, simply pull on the dongle to release the cable. A hidden display lights up and shows how much power is left in the battery. It doesn’t have a drain time display like the MagGo Power Bank (more on that in a second), but I don’t mind. It offers a very clean aesthetic in general.
When you’re ready to charge again or need to pass charging, you can unfold the hidden prongs and plug them directly into the wall.
I’m worried about durability. If something happens to the built-in cable, you’ll have to provide your own to be able to use the secondary USB-C port (although that’s a nice added feature, grab an Apple Watch charging cable and you’ll have everything you need). for the weekend).
Is 5000 mAh not enough for you? You can also get a 10,000 mAh version for $10 more. Both chargers are available right now on Anker’s website, starting at $40 ($33.99 with coupon code available).

But what if you don’t need a travel charger and just want the biggest battery possible on the back of your iPhone? Then you need the MagGo 10K power bank.
The 10,000 mAh MagGo Power Bank is a huge Qi2 power bank that will quickly and easily top up your iPhone. The easy-to-read display on the side of the unit lets you see what state the battery is in and how much percentage is left.

It has a built-in kickstand and honestly, this might be the best way to use it. While the battery’s built-in magnet is strong enough to stay attached to your phone, the unit is heavy and bulky enough to detach without too much effort.
That said, it’s a huge watt reserve with an equally huge standby life, making it the perfect emergency battery to keep in your bag. Being Qi2 enabled means you can fast charge your iPhone wirelessly, with a charge from 0 to 50% in 44 minutes. You can also use the built-in USB-C port to charge even faster (or charge something else).
Anker has also put a lot of effort specifically into heat exchange to protect both your device and the battery. Even when delivering full power to a dying iPhone, the MagGo doesn’t get hot (something that can’t be said for many power banks).
However, the magnetic convenience will cost you. This is the largest Qi2 charger in the Anker MagGo line and costs $89.99 (although there is a nice $20 off coupon on their website right now). Money aside, this is the magnetic battery that keeps disappearing from my house because everyone wants to use it. The impressive thing is that it keeps coming back with the battery remaining.
mophie juice packet
mophie juice pack for iPhone 15 Pro Max
If you’re looking for the ultimate in portable charging convenience for your iPhone 15, look no further than Mophie’s new juice pack.
This case fits your iPhone and has a built-in 3000 mAh battery. It’s not enough to fully charge your device, but it’s more than enough to keep it charged all day (mophie claims up to 50% longer battery life).
The metal buttons on the case are a nice touch.
The case is soft-touch plastic (which resists fingerprints much better than glossy cases) and slides to accommodate your device. The resulting combination adds about a half-inch of thickness to your iPhone and a strong chin at the base. It’s a good compromise. A larger battery would have made the case even bulkier and the extra length accommodates the speaker channels at the bottom.
A surprise benefit of speaker redirection is that it makes it very convenient to watch content on your iPhone. Usually when you hold your phone horizontally to watch a show (I’m addicted to Game Changer on Dropout right now), your hand blocks the speaker. With the juice pack, that’s not a problem.
The Mophie Juice Pack has pass-through charging and is smart enough to charge your phone only when necessary. On a recent trip, where I knew I would be using my phone almost constantly throughout the day, I plugged in my power-hungry iPhone 15 Pro Max and turned on the battery first thing in the morning. It didn’t start to drop below 100% until after 2:30 p.m.
The New iPhone 15 juice pack costs $99.95 on the Mophie website. You might also want to look for it on Amazon, which has had occasional deals on the juice pack since its release.
Which one to take with you?
Every charging solution has its place. If you’re looking for something portable and convenient when traveling, I’d stick with the Anker 3-in-1.
If you simply need the absolute maximum of power available in a Qi2-enabled battery, then the Anker MagGo power bank will be able to keep almost anything charged.
I’m a bit partial to the juice pack, if only because no one else in my family can drink it (I’m the only one who has an iPhone 15 Pro Max). It protects your iPhone 15 (with drop protection up to 6 feet) and has a built-in battery that you can use with one click. It’s especially good for those days when I walk out the door late in the day and realize I’ve almost run out of energy.
