Mac Studio: what you need to know
Apple last updated the Mac Studio with the M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips at its annual WWDC developer conference in June 2023. Other new features included support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and high-impedance headphones.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a new Mac Studio with at least a high-end M4 chip variant will be released “around mid” 2025. Based on this time frame, it seems more likely that Apple will announce the next Mac Studio at WWDC 2025 next June.
With a high-end M4 chip, Mac Studio will be much faster and get hardware-accelerated ray tracing for graphics. The M4 chips are also rumored to have a faster and more efficient neural engine for AI tasks. Additionally, Gurman said the next Mac Studio could support up to 512GB of RAM, up from the current limit of 192GB.
No other major updates or design changes have been rumored for the upcoming Mac Studio yet.
