It’s fun to watch Google’s Pixel smartphone ads with your iPhone, your “best friend forever.” In the latest announcement, both phones are at ‘Coachella’, the annual music and arts festival in California. As usual, Google shows its AI functions. But this time things are a little different, so to speak.
Google Pixel 8 Pro has an artificial intelligence feature called Magic Editor that can edit an image and move the subject in a photo. The ad shows the iPhone talking to the Pixel smartphone about the best pose for a photo at the festival.
The Pixel clicks a photo after a day’s conversation and tells the iPhone that it will use the Magic Editor AI feature to edit the photos just the way the iPhone wants.
“The first phone with Magic Editor,” the ad says. Look it up here:
What is Magic Editor’s AI feature?
With Magic Editor, users can make complex edits. The feature uses a combination of AI techniques, including generative AI, to help users make edits to specific parts of an image, such as the subject, sky, or background.
How to use Magic Editor on iPhones
Google has also released Magic Editor for iPhone. iPhone users must use the Google Photos app to access the feature. However, all Photos users can use Magic Editor on iOS with 10 saves each month. After saving 10 times, you will need to upgrade to a Google One Premium plan of 2TB or higher to continue saving edits made with Magic Editor.
