A week after visionOS 1.2 beta 4, Apple is now releasing its fifth test version. Although it’s unclear what’s new with this update, Apple is still working to make its first space computer more reliable for users.
When Apple began beta testing of visionOS 1.2, it also made a new Spatial Personas feature available to visionOS 1.1 users. With it, you no longer see other people’s Personas in a box, but rather they move freely in the environment.
Apple Vision Pro Beautiful Display
This feature is especially useful with SharePlay, as you can watch a movie together, play games, and more. With that, you can take advantage of the beautiful Apple Vision Pro display and when you look next to you, there are other people with you, making this experience more immersive.
On top of that, Apple is likely making overall stability improvements, app improvements, and other bug fixes with visionOS 1.2 beta 5.
With visionOS 1.1, Apple added device management to Vision Pro. With that, IT departments can manage these headsets the same way they manage other Apple devices.
Another change for visionOS 1.1 was the ability to reset this space computer if the user forgot the password. This is also available with the latest version of visionOS 1.0.3.
Several users have reported that Apple has also improved FaceTime digital people and real-world pass-through images.
While it’s unclear how much Apple can improve yet, the company also highlighted tips and tricks to ensure this device captures your best personality. Here’s what you should keep in mind:
- Capture won’t start until you hold your Apple Vision Pro at eye level. If you do not start the capture within 15 minutes, it is cancelled. You can restart capturing after turning your Apple Vision Pro back on.
- Find a space with even front lighting so there are no shadows on your face. Avoid brig canceled sources overhead or in the background.
- Stand or sit in front of a simple, neutral background without too many details.
- Remain in the same place and position during the capture process.
- Relax your shoulders while holding the Apple Vision Pro.
- Natural and genuine facial expressions produce the best results.
In addition to visionOS 1.2 beta 5, Apple also released the Release Candidate version of iOS 17.5, iPadOS 17.5, watchOS 10.5, macOS 14.5, and tvOS 17.5. BGR will let you know if we discover anything new with visionOS 1.2.
