The music platform subtly changed its X bio on Saturday, April 13 to read: “One word a day until the @taylorswift13 album drops.”
Swifties immediately began exploring their Apple playlists and soon discovered that the lyrics page of Midnight The tune “Glitch” featured a series of capital letters in seemingly random places. However, fans know it’s never random when the hitmaker, 34, starts writing random capital letters.
Word No. 1: Hereby
The letters H, E, Y, E, R, and B were found on the “Glitch” letter page, which spells “hereby” when deciphered.

Once the word was revealed, Swift fans began theorizing how “hereby” connects to The Department of Tortured Poets.
“Taylor Swift here sounds like the author of Bridgerton. Here (sic) I release this album,” wrote a fan via X on Saturday.
Others noticed that the word is defined as “with these words or with this action” and speculated that it could be a TTPD lyric.
Swift’s official fan account chimed in later that night, writing via X: “Hm…maybe we have to look a little harder. @AppleMusic, same time tomorrow?
Word No. 2: Conduct
Track #2 appeared on the lines of “Peace,” a 2020 song by Folklore. Taylor Nation’s official Instagram account informed fans at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 14 that there was a new clue (and confirmed “hereby” as the first word). Within moments, Swifties found the capital letters and deciphered them.
An X user noted that they could be correlated with Swift’s recent Apple Music playlists, taking one from each phase. “First he went to the denial playlist with glitch and we got HERE today he was negotiating the playlist with peace and we got CONDUCT, the fan wrote.
Another believes there is a connection with her ex. Joe Alwyn. “Hereby glitch and conduct in peace…both songs about Joe too,” Swiftie stated.

Swift confirmed at the Grammys earlier this year that The Department of Tortured Poets, Their eleventh studio album will be released on April 19. The LP, which he wrote after 2022 midnight was completed, it helped her get through a seemingly difficult time.
“I needed to do (TTPD). It was a lifesaver for me,” Swift said during a February concert in Australia. “It kind of reminded me why songwriting is something that helps me in life and I’ve never had an album where I’ve needed songwriting more than I needed it. Tortured poets.”
Swift, a longtime advocate of leaving intricate musical cues for her fans, released another via Instagram on Sunday, April 14.
“I wish I could forget how we almost had it all,” read a quote on his Instagram, while promoting Target’s Phantom Clear Vinyl edition of TTPD.
The Instagram quote, along with tracks on the album’s track listing, has led fans to believe that The Department of Tortured Poets charts Swift’s emotions after breaking up with Alwyn, 33.
Swift and Alwyn dated for six years between 2016 and early 2023. The pop star has since moved on with the soccer player. Travis Kelce praised one of the first copies of TTPD.
“I’ve heard some of that, yeah, and it’s amazing,” Kelce, 34, gushed during a February news conference before Super Bowl LVIII. “I can’t wait for her to revolutionize the world when she finally falls.”
Word No. 3: This
Track number 3 came from Swift’s song “Better Than Revenge (Taylor’s Version),” which included the letters H, T, I, and S. Unscrambled, the word is This. Many Swifties took to social media to share their theories about what the number 4 could include, including a reunion or an investigation.
“Everyone says it will be ‘I hereby hold this meeting’ but… there is no I,” one user wrote via X. “It’s ‘I hereby hold this’. I think the next word will be something completely unexpected.”
