In addition to what could be his first reaction, Velasquez also shared a video on Instagram of his father, Aníbal Velásquez, in which he revealed details of how his son received the sentence.

“I just spoke to Alex Díaz –his manager–, they are going to Cancún (Mexico). Nelson is calm and, well, they failed there. Nelson has his lawyer, they are going to appeal the decision. And then I started to draw conclusions. There will be no one left unchecked here,” the singer’s father commented.
In addition to the prison sentence, Velásquez will have to pay a fine of 26 current monthly minimum wages, which is equivalent to approximately $20,800,000.

Despite the conviction, the court granted Velásquez a conditional suspension of the execution of the sentence. This means that the singer will not go to prison and has a probationary period of 48 months. However, during this time, The artist must comply with conditions established by the judge to avoid serving a prison sentence.
