Donald Trump says an agreement has been reached with Kamala Harris’ campaign on the rules for their first presidential debate.
The former president wrote on Truth Social: “I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a debate with Comrade Kamala Harris. It will be broadcast live on KeynoteUSA FAKE NEWS, by far the most disgusting and unfair news anchor in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”
He added: “The rules will be the same as the last KeynoteUSA debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, crooked Joe Biden.”
Also on Tuesday, special counsel Jack Smith unsealed a new indictment against the former president for his allegedly unlawful attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss. The new grand jury indictment comes after the Supreme Court granted Trump some “immunity” from criminal prosecution for his “official actions in office.”
Meanwhile, a group of more than 200 Republicans who worked for President George W. Bush and Sens. John McCain and Mitt Romney endorsed Harris for president instead of Trump.
The vice president has built up a seven-point national lead over her Republican rival, leading him 50 percent to 43 percent, according to a Fairleigh Dickinson University poll.

Trump discusses assassination attempt with Dr. Phil
Donald Trump began his interview with TV host Dr. Phil by talking about the assassination attempt on him in Pennsylvania and saying that he believed God was the reason for his survival.
“All I can think of is that God loves our country and believes that we will get it back. He wants it back. It’s very bad right now what’s happening,” he said.
“It has to be God. How can you say it’s luck when there’s, you know, a 20 million chance of survival? Well, I mean, it’s just not possible that I was in that position. It’s the only position where that bullet could have missed.”
Recalling the incident at the Butler campaign rally, Trump said he had “fallen quickly.”
“I thought something was going on there. It was a very strong blow to the ear… and I was lucky, I fell quickly… The bullets were passing right over my head when I fell, I heard them. They were moving pretty fast. I wondered how fast a bullet goes. I was told about 3,000 miles per hour.”

What the races in Montana, Arizona, North Carolina and Florida can tell us about the 2024 presidential election
Second gentleman Douglas Emhoff has participated in several campaign receptions, while Gov. Tim Walz will speak to the International Association of Firefighters on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, will tour Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
But of course, the presidency is just one of the races that will be decided in November. And some of the races on the lower ticket lists are just as bloody. They could also have an outsized impact on the top candidates.
Here’s a rundown of the most important non-presidential elections that could make a big difference.

Harris campaign launches new ad to highlight plans to build 3 million homes
Vice President Kamala Harris has a new ad campaign to draw attention to her plan to build 3 million new homes over four years, a move designed to stem inflationary pressures that also stands in sharp contrast to Republican Donald Trump’s approach.
Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, is highlighting her plan in a new minute-long ad that draws on her personal experience, having grown up in rental housing while her mother saved for a decade before being able to buy a home. The ad is aimed at voters in key swing states like Arizona and Nevada. Campaign officials are also holding 20 events this week focused on housing issues.

The 2024 race to watch: A hotly contested Senate race in deeply Democratic Maryland has taken an interesting turn
The close race is no surprise to Marylanders, who know Hogan from his two terms as governor, during which he enjoyed one of the highest popularity ratings of any state leader in the country. Before the governor announced his candidacy, he was considered the only Republican with a serious chance of winning the seat.
