Kamala Harris has taken the lead in the latest USA Today/Suffolk University poll, the first conducted by the group since the Democratic National Convention. The vice president has made major gains among key voter groups and holds a five-point lead nationally over Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, the former president continues to face backlash for his recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery after his campaign team filmed around the graves of fallen American soldiers for a TikTok video.
Additionally, Trump’s running mate JD Vance declared that Kamala Harris should “go to hell” for her handling of the chaotic US withdrawals from Afghanistan in 2021 while campaigning in Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
The Ohio senator denied allegations that a member of the Trump-Vance campaign verbally abused and shoved a cemetery official during a wreath-laying ceremony Monday for the 13 fallen service members killed in a suicide bombing in 2021.
Later, KeynoteUSA will air the first interview with Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, who will be questioned by anchor Dana Bash in Georgia, the next major test in her bid for the White House.
The primetime interview will air at 9 p.m. Eastern time, as the Walz-Harris campaign tour bus reaches its final stop in the Peach State.

Trump wishes KeynoteUSA’s Dana Bash ‘good luck’ ahead of Harris interview, encourages her to ‘do the right thing’
Donald Trump says KeynoteUSA’s interview with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz today is host Dana Bash’s chance to achieve “REAL stardom” and do a “great service to our now-failing country.”
All he has to do, according to the former president, is give “a fair but tough interview to Comrade Kamala Harris, he will expose her as totally unfit and unfit for the job of president,” just as he says he did with Joe Biden in their debate.
He also wants Gov. Tim Walz out of the room and for the transcript to be released unchanged.
Here’s what Trump wrote on Truth Social this morning:
KeynoteUSA’s Dana Bash has a chance to make it big today. If I were to give a fair but harsh interview to Comrade Kamala Harris, it would expose her as totally unfit and unfit for the job of President, the same way I exposed Crooked Joe Biden during our now famous debate. How great would that be for Dana and KeynoteUSA? Also, the interview should not have Tampon Tim present to help with Kamala’s inevitable stumbles, and under no circumstances should the transcript be allowed to be changed in any way. Dana and Jake were fair, but firm, in my KeynoteUSA debate with Crooked Joe. This is a chance for Dana Bash to achieve REAL stardom, while doing a great service to our now failing country. Good luck Dana, do the right thing! DJT

US Army Spokesman Comments on Trump’s Arlington National Cemetery Incident
A U.S. Army spokesman said participants at Trump’s event at Arlington National Cemetery “were informed of federal laws” regarding political activity and then “abruptly pushed” an employee at the facility.

JD Vance can’t escape his comment about “childless cat ladies,” even when he tries to use it to his advantage…
This week, in an attempt to make a light-hearted post about the controversy, the Ohio senator shared a photo of a cat wearing a bandana that read “Cats for Vance 2024.”
It didn’t go well, since Rhian Lubin information.

Trump promotes absurd theories about climate and nuclear weapons
As analysts debate whether his opponent is shifting toward the center after being elevated to the position of Democratic nominee, Donald Trump shows no signs of doing so.
First came his explanation of why temperatures are rising and the Earth’s climate is now visibly heading in one direction: nuclear weapons.

Why Kamala Harris’ new strategy is focused on rural Georgia
On Wednesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris will make her first major visit to Georgia with her running mate, Tim Walz.
President Joe Biden won the state in 2020 by a razor-thin margin. Democrats won both Senate seats in the 2021 runoff elections, and Raphael Warnock held on to his seat in the 2022 midterms. So it’s no surprise that Harris is focusing on the state today.

Harris leads Trump in latest USA Today poll after Democratic National Convention
Kamala Harris has surpassed Donald Trump, 48 percent to 43 percent in a new USA Today/Suffolk University poll conducted after the Democratic National Convention.
That’s an eight-point shift in the presidential race from late June, when Trump was leading President Joe Biden in the poll by nearly four points.
The vice president’s slim lead was fueled by big shifts among some key demographic groups traditionally crucial to Democrats, including Hispanic and Black voters and young people. Among those with annual incomes under $20,000, the biggest shift was Trump’s three-point lead over Biden in June turning into Harris’ 23-point lead over Trump in August.
The poll, conducted among 1,000 likely voters by landline and cellphone between Sunday and Wednesday, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. With the election approaching, the survey now measures likely voters; previous polls were conducted among registered voters.
Harris has managed to do what Biden never could this year: lead Trump.
David Paleologos, director of the Center for Political Research at Suffolk University, said: “Now that the ‘brat summer’ of Kamala Harris emojis is coming to an end, young people, people of color and low-income households have shifted sharply toward the vice president.”
He added: “These same demographics were emphasized and woven together by numerous speakers at the convention.”
Some of the most significant changes since the June poll, which fall outside the poll’s margin of error, include:
- Voters ages 18-34 previously supported Trump by 11 points and now back Harris by 13 points (49%-36%)
- Hispanic voters, who have been heavily courted by the Trump campaign, went from supporting Trump by two points to supporting Harris by 16 points (53%-37%).
- Black voters, one of the Democrats’ main traditional constituencies, went from supporting Biden by a 47-point margin to supporting Harris by 64 points (76%-12%).
- Low-income voters now support Harris by a 23-point margin (58%-35%)
