The retailer has slashed the suggested retail price by 18%, leaving it at just $898 in a variety of colors.

The MacBook Air underwent a design change with the M2 version, which we called “the best laptop for students” in our Apple MacBook Air M2 review.
This is still true for the M3 version (I’m typing this on one right now). The M3 chip is great for standard tasks, but can boost performance for more complex tasks when needed.
In my experience, it’s just as comfortable browsing the web or sending emails as it is editing Photoshop files or even recording and editing audio. While there’s no fan inside, so you may experience some thermal throttling under sustained loads, it runs absolutely silently.
If you’re looking for more power, the Apple MacBook Pro is also worth a look, which we’ve reviewed, but it comes at a higher price.

This model comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD space, which remains a controversial starting configuration among Apple’s fan base.
While this discount makes it easier to swallow, and Apple Silicon’s unified memory architecture means 8GB will go a lot further than on previous Intel-based models, you might feel like more is needed. Still, with cloud storage like DropBox and Google Drive, you might be pretty satisfied too – especially with a laptop this sleek that also has the latest M3 chip inside.
Add to that up to 18 hours of battery life in a machine less than half an inch thick and you have the recipe for a high-powered portable machine.
